Here's a collection of guides showing how to setup up a developer environment / workstation on Fedora Linux.
For more than a decade I used a Windows desktop for website development, and for the last couple of years I've been working in Fedora Linux ( desktop and server ) for most of my web application development.
I'm more interested in doing all my work in a Linux environment, mainly because Linux is much more fun, more stable & more reliable than windows in many ways.
It's easy to get started with Linux, a lot of the tools and programs are made for developers and everything that matters for web sites / web applications runs on Linux servers in the real world.

Fedora has a dedicated site for helping developers to get started with basic installation / setup guides :
Quote:Fedora Developer Portal is a place for developers running Fedora on their workstation or virtual machine for their development needs.
Fedora offers plenty of packages for developers, but they were not that easy to find and understand.
Therefore the goal of this site is to present the packages available on Fedora and explain how to use them.
